You may have seen Amy on our Instagram stories as one of our Ordinary Athlete’s extraordinaries! So here’s a bit more about Amy. Amy uses her Instagram to give encouraging messages and advice to help others achieve their goals and created the motivational running group ‘Run with Aim’ in the process. A few years ago, Amy set out a plan to race across the 50 states of America, and complete a running event in each of them. The challenge has seen an incredible change in Amy’s running with her time getting quicker and quicker as she runs through the states. Extraordinaries #11 Charlotte

You may have seen Charlotte on our Instagram stories as one of our Ordinary Athlete’s extraordinaries! So here’s a bit more about @charlotte_proud91 From an early age Charlotte has used her determination and strength while living with Brittle Bone Disease, showing incredible resilience to recover physically and mentally, from over 50 fractures. Now Charlotte spends her time helping others and works for the NHS on an intensive care unit.  She started running in 2011 and has never looked back. Despite her injuries, Charlotte has completed four marathons, including Paris, with the Yorkshire marathon lined up later this year. Extraordinaries #10 Amani

Amani is Ordinary Athlete’s extraordinary this week! So here’s a bit more about @fithijabiRunning is one of the many ways Amani inspires others. She began her running journey by walking during pregnancy, at a time when exercise helped her recover from an emotionally abusive marriage. Now having finished her first marathon, she recently set up her own event, the FitQueens 5K, to encourage other women and raise money for victims of domestic violence in her home city of Atlanta. But it’s not only running that makes Amani’s story extraordinary. At the age of five Amani moved from New York to Louisiana. In 2005 Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans and left a devastating impact. Our Ordinary Athlete’s extraordinaries feature this week is Chris!  Chris’s enjoyment of running is clear to see. He’s completed many races over the years including events such as the Great North Run. Often Chris can be seen running in the north-east while showing his love for his favourite sports teams, the Chicago Bulls and his beloved Sunderland to name just a few and does it all with a fantastic sense of humour. ‘I seem to run faster without sleeves!’ In 2019 Chris’s life changed when he was diagnosed with cancer.
